For more than 30 years we've cared for the pets of Clinton, Langley, Freeland and Greenbank. Owner Dr. Eric Patrin and our team pair genuinely advanced medicine with a calm, welcoming clinic your pet feels safe in.
Three experienced veterinarians and a warm support staff who treat your animals like their own.

A Vermont native who took a winding road to Whidbey, Dr. Patrin graduated from Iowa State's College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006 and has owned the clinic since 2010. He has three kids in the South Whidbey schools and a wild border collie mix named Cali.

An Iowa State classmate and good friend of Dr. Patrin, Dr. Rob brings a special interest in exotic pets — reptiles and small mammals — plus emergency experience. A former competitive swimmer and coach, he lives on-island with his wife Cara and their three children.

Dr. Macartney earned her veterinary degree at the AVMA-accredited Royal Veterinary College in London and began her career in Oxford, UK. She also holds a degree in animal behavior and once worked with bonobos at the San Diego Zoo. She's lived on the South end for many years with her husband Alastair and their three children.

With the clinic since January 2017, Laura keeps everything running smoothly while studying at the University of Washington. She's mom to two daughters and two dogs — Murph, a Goldendoodle, and Finn, a rescue.

Sabra has worked as an assistant and technician since 2015 and has been in the pet industry since 1998. She grew up in Edmonds before relocating to Whidbey Island.

Marissa and her husband moved from Georgia to Whidbey in 2013. She was a client first and loved the clinic so much she joined the team in March 2018. She shares her home with two dogs, Khali and Diesel.

A few words from neighbors who trust us with the animals they love. Reviews shared from Google.
“SWAC is amazing! Whether I lived in Seattle, Whidbey, or Bellingham, I never changed vets. My sweet pup was seen by Dr. Patrin from the time Oz was 3 months until he had to leave at almost 11 years old — Dr. Patrin stayed with us every step of the way. The only thing that made the end even slightly bearable was Dr. Patrin and his staff's support. They even sent my family a card they all had signed. I'm a lifer for SWAC!

“Our golden retriever puppy was attacked by an adult dog on the beach. They instantly told us to come in, late Saturday morning, to clean and inspect her wounds. What a caring group of people — for both pets and people.
